ALL OUT FOR MUMIA!
(ROC-News Service) Mumia Abu-Jamal, the award-winning African American radio journalist in Philadelphia, has been on death row for 18 years. He was convicted of killing a police officer in a trial called one of the worst miscarriages of justice in the history of the American legal system. (For more information on the case go to http://www.MUMIA2000.org .)
Mumia Abu-Jamal's fate will soon be decided. His case is now before a federal judge in Philadelphia. If the judge refuses to grant him a new trial, MUMIA ABU-JAMAL COULD BE EXECUTED IN A MATTER OF MONTHS.
Even for those that feel Mumia is guilty of the crime, after reviewing the details of the case, we cannot see how anyone can dispute the idea that a new and FAIR trial for Mumia is imperative in a nation that prides itself on justice for all.
Abu-Jamal''s fight for a new trial has won the support of people around the world, including the Congressional Black Caucus, the European Parliament, Martin Luther King III, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, labor unions in the U.S. and other countries representing millions of workers, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Alice Walker, Paul Newman, Danny Glover, Ossie Davis and Amnesty International.
ROCK OUT CENSORSHIP joins these groups and individuals in calling for a new trial for Mumia.
